When I hit the road, I check with my buddy Wade for good dining tips. Wade writes for the Food Network show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. They profile the sort of small mom and pop shops that I love, and I’ve never been let down.
This trip, he steered us toward 55 South in Franklin, Tennessee…30 minutes south of Nashville, a quaint town with an inviting main street, and delicious southern comfort food.
We struggled a bit with the server’s drawl that seemed deeper south than our geography. And in the end we choose poorly. The food was great, but we ordered tacos…forgetting that the next day we would eat at Wade’s other recommended Nashville diner…Mas Tacos…where we ate…mas tacos.
Great food…eating our way across the country.
